Number #1 Reason We Updated Our Name

The first reason we changed from Orr Automotive to Thorr Auto and Tire is because there’s a large Orr Auto Group in Texas. They run many dealerships selling a wide variety of vehicles including Chevrolet, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Nissan, Volkswagen, and Cadillac. This extensive network of dealerships contributes significantly to the automotive landscape in the area, making it even more vital for us to rebrand ourselves effectively to stand out in such a competitive market.

Google would often send people to them instead of us, which was understandably frustrating. We found that searching for “Thorr” with two R’s was much easier to find and rank for, giving us a better chance to attract customers searching online. Not to mention, we think Thorr is a cool dude, and the name resonates more with our identity and the values we want to project as a modern and innovative auto service provider! We believe this rebranding can help elevate our business and provide an enhanced customer experience.

Big news from Montclair – Orr Automotive is now Thorr Auto!** You might’ve noticed the fresh new look and name at https://thorrauto.com, and there’s a pretty cool reason behind it. The old name “Orr Automotive” was getting absolutely destroyed by talk-to-text and autocorrect. People would say “Orr” and their phones would spit out “or,” “ore,” “oar,” or worse. Customers were texting the wrong name, searching the wrong name, and straight-up missing us. Enough was enough. So we rebranded to something strong, memorable, and impossible to mess up: Thorr Auto. Same killer team. Same location in Montclair, California. Same top-tier automotive service you’ve always trusted — just a name that actually sticks when you say it out loud or type it into your phone. Come see us at Thorr Auto. We’ll know exactly who you are… even if your phone never did.

while we greatly appreciate everything Jim Orr did when he originally founded this business back in 1992, the current owners have now been here for eighteen years — longer than the original founder even owned it.
